General Municipal Election March 7, 2017

The City of Rolling Hills General Municipal Election that was scheduled to be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 was cancelled because there were not more candidates than offices to be elected.

During the City Council candidate nomination period from November 14 through December 9, 2016 only two candidates – the incumbents Bea Dieringer and Jeff Pieper – qualified to run for the two seats being elected. Therefore, pursuant to the State Elections Code and to save the expense associated with conducting an election, the City Council removed the measure from the ballot, appointed the two incumbents and cancelled the March election.

Councilmembers Dieringer and Pieper were sworn into their second term in office at the City Council meeting on March 27, 2017.
